Church Ministry Conventions Network is a
non-profit organization whose mission is to encourage the
growth of Christian conferences and conventions through the
networking of convention directors and planners, resource
providers (exhibitors), and workshop providers.
CMCN was founded in 1994 by Marian Morris
and Dennis Williams. Marian was then serving as Executive
Vice President at Gospel Light. Marian recalls "two years
before retiring from Gospel Light the Lord impressed upon me
the need for Christian education convention organizers and
resource providers across the United States to have a way to
network and work together for a common cause." The first
annual meeting was held in Denver, Colorado in conjunction
with the Christian Ministries Convention of Denver. Today,
the organization is still active. Marian continues to be the
driving force behind its success.
CMCN operates under the leadership of a
Board of Directors. This group volunteers their time to
plan, organize, and run the various day-to-day business of
CMCN. The board meets once during the year for a board
retreat, which is an intensive planning session. Board
members have various responsibilities that contributes to
the success of CMCN.
